Great Soba experience!
Love this place. If you come out the metro you have to wind you way down a couple small suburban streets to get there. It is pretty dark and the streets are narrow so look out for cars. It does not have a English sign out front but you can tell it is the soba place because it has a soba machine in the window. There was fo wait when I got there around 8 on a Friday night.I sat at the bar and got the curry soba noodles and seasonal tempora with a front and center view of the chefs in action. They basically put the tempora on your plate right out the fryer. They accommodate to English speakers and have a English menu with explanations on how to properly enjoy the food so no need to be intimidated. Everything is priced very well and delicious.
Visited the place twice in my last two visits in Tokyo! A great and affordable place if you enjoy Soba noodles!
Tasty soba made from good selected soba powder from Aizu (in Fukushima Prefecture, one of famous soba powder supplier areas). I recommend "Meoto mori." You can enjoy both soba and hiyamugi with it. ("Less quantity, more quality" type soba restaurant) Enjoy!
Thid Soba restaurant listed Michelin guide.Regular soba cost you just around 1000yen.They uses real Wasabi and 100% soba which called Towari soba.Good cost performance to experience.
Best soba ever. Excellent!
Love this place. I ordered tenzaru soba (1520 JPY, tax inclusive). It was a cold soba noodle dish cooked perfectly to al dente, coupled with soba sauce dipping and freshly fried assorted tempura (prawn, vegetable, conker eel meat). Soba noodle was good and aromatic. Tempura was crunchy, yet you can feel the freshness of the ingredients. They also served soba boiling water (in a kettle) in the end of the course, just in case you want to taste the soba tsuyu. Pouring it to the leftover soba sauce and drink it.This place is cash-only, no credit card accepted.
Good, but doesn't by a long way justify the queue or the wait. The tempura was fairly good. Nothing to write home about. The soba is of course what you come for and was excellent.
Best Soba in Tokyo. Every element had the utmost care taken. Definitely worth the trek
This is not just soba, this is art.
Unfortunately we didn't have the best experience as we expected. Food was good but not great as expected from a Michellin restaurant. Tempura was medium quality and very small portion. We definitely had better tempura in Japan. Service was very bad - no one spoke English, and didn't even try to understand our questions. We didn't get any attention, we tried to call the waitress a few times.
Michelin recommended soba restaurant. One of the best u can find in japan. Super high quality soba noodle. Must try
Delicious range of soba noodles! The hot soba comes with a light broth. With the cold soba you mix the sauces together and dip the noodles in and then afterwards you pour a broth into the sauces and drink it as a soup! Definitely must try.
A Michelin star restaurant for a standard price! Great quality soba noodles prepared right in front of you, other food is also good (type will depend on the menu you choose). The ambient is great and the restaurant is filled by mostly only locals. You can see all the actual fresh ingredients being used to prepare your dish right in front of you. Go here for quality over quantity, and if you want to try real wasabi for a change!
A lil bit walk from station but worth it. Lunch set at 2400 yen before tax
Wonderful food and restaurant. My first time eating Tempura in Japan and it exceeded my expectations. The Udo was fantastic as was the mushroom. I'd never eaten Conga Eel before and it was surprisingly tender and not chewy at all. The noodles and broth were the star though. Michelin quality for £18 at lunch is a real bargain. Don't hesitate to visit.
When in Tokyo you have to hit this place. By far the best meal I have ever eaten in my life. Ambiance and flavors make this place a must try. Of course you have to like the Soba, pickled fern, tempura, red squid with seaweed, and Sake.
Delicious and affordable (and has an English menu)! We arrived for lunch around 2 pm on a Saturday and there was only a ~10 minute wait.
Soba is really good. Tempura average. Price reasonable. Service good.
Delicious and chewy hand made soba with the freshest most delicate tempura fry!! ¥2400 for lunch set with soba and tempura seafood and vegetable mix. Definitely recommend, fits the old style Kagurazaka vibe.
Went on a Tuesday at 1:50pm and it was CLOSED. Call before going, don’t rely on GOOG maps’ information.
Best soba i had in tokyo
I used to not really care for soba, until I ate here. This place changed my perspective completely. Really good. If you can't decide between hot or cold, know that both choices are good and you can't go wrong either way.
The place is quite small and cozy and service is exceptional. Only 1 staff member spoke English so he attended to us the whole night. Tried to make a reservation but they didn't except so we just turned up and had to wait for about around 30mins. The dishes are straightforward and honest. Different types of soba, served either cold or hot. My favourite was the fresh oysters, big, juicy, sweet and not that expensive! Soba was great too and the ice cream is the perfect way to end the meal. 2nd time here and will definitely return!
Amazing soba as they have their own mill and the soba is made on the day at the premises. Their tempura is to die for, very thin crispy batter. They have a michelin star for a reason
A very popular soba restaurant mentioned in Michelin guide. People start queuing in front of the store before the shop opens. Do come early to avoid the queue
good soba, great side dishes & oiishi tempura. not cheap
Great soba and superb tempura and the best: All for a very affordable price! Try the tenzaro, it’s cold soba and tempura, you can also ask for Omori(large size)
An excellent combination of special Soba and tempura dishes!Four of us ordered the large seasonal tempura set, 3 to 4 appetizers, and a draft beer and sake, and two cold Soba dishes and two hot noodle dishes. All came out great!Cold Soba are delicious,My curry beef noodle was great! We think the tempura are the best!A great way to end our family vacation in Japan!Highly recommended!
Fancy food for mid-range prices. The curry soba I had wasn't great, but the tempura and simpler soba dishes are delicious!!
Fresh soba worth waiting for ... so prepare to wait 30 min for a table end enjoy !
Soba was absolutely top notch and staff was attentive. Tempura was average.
Soba and tempura is absolutely the best I ever had. N the queue was surprisingly not that long!
The cold soba is fantastic together with the chef choice fried food from chef. Dont order the soup one as the hot soup will ruined the soba. I regretted for so long as I ordered the soup one. The tamago is normal so no need to order.
Delicious soba! Although this place accepts credit cards, it's much easier to pay with cash (we tried with the former and it took 5-10 minutes for front of house to set up square for the transaction).
This place was WIIIIIILLLDDDD YO. SOBA Was fine as hell- bring yo mumma, pa, nan and cousins here ya'll PUHLEASE.
Chewy delicious zaru soba. Will recommend yuba appetiser and tempura oyster! The oyster has a thin tempura crust with an amazingly creamy texture inside.
My god, this place is amazing. Cannot recommend highly enough. The hand made soba noodles are incredible, I prefer them cold to the hot version, the tempura is insanely light, the seafood so fresh, the tea was delicious. Honestly can't fault a thing. This place is a must try!
Excellent soba and udon noodles. The restaurant is spacious and has a very nice, cozy, and quaint vibe. Noodles are made in-house of course. Prices were reasonable. Approximately 1200 to 2400 yen for a meal. The staff were quite nice as well. Definitely a worthwhile experience!
One star Michelin soba restaurant. Better than average soba. Tastes very light, but good. There's barely any queue. Price starts from 1000 yen.
We got to this Michelin star restaurant at 11:20am on a Wednesday and just managed to get in on the first seating. If we were 15 mins later we'd have to wait. We ordered the cold doing soba with tempura and it was delicious! Both the 100% soba and the zaru soba were both super al dente, the zaru was only slightly more al dente due to its wheat content. I'd like to come back and try the hot dipping soup with duck. Great value for lunch under ¥2500 per person!
A must-visit in Tokyo if you’re a soba fanatic
Excellent soba and curry! Worth looking around to find. Reasonably priced (1100 yen) and wasn't busy at 2pm.
Cold soba here is a delightful experience. Beautiful setting and wonderful to watch the theater of noodle and tempura preparations.
The food was exceptional and very reasonably priced. We had the hot noodles, but it seemed that the locals were primarily eating the cold version. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. I definitely recommend stopping in for dinner.
Delicious hot bowl of udon noodle soup with duck meat. Like any other respectable Japanese restaurants, there is nothing to fault. Service is prompt.
Just wow. Who knew you could love soba noodles so much! This was a great find! I would have given 4.5 stars. The recommended choice was the soba plus tempura, I would say for the price the tempura isn’t worth it. You need to eat it very quick in order for it to be optimal. If you really want to try the tempura we ordered just one order of soba, and the other one was soba plus tempura. It’s a good way to at least experience it. The soba alone was perfect!! And the staff is super helpful if you’ve never eaten these kind of noodles before. Reasonably priced for a Michelin rated restaurant. Can’t wait to go back!
Good selection of tasty appetizers. Soba is good too
Best soba and tempura I've had! (And I've had a lot)
